At the heart of our Waldorf Kindergarten is the belief that children thrive when surrounded by what is beautiful, meaningful, and true. Each day unfolds in a warm, home-like environment with a gentle rhythm that balances group and individual play, active engagement, and quiet rest. Classrooms are thoughtfully filled with natural materials that inspire imagination and creativity, while outdoor spaces invite exploration, play, and a deep connection with nature.

A Sample Daily Rhythm

Each day at Austin Waldorf follows a steady and nurturing rhythm that supports the child’s need for movement, creativity, rest, and connection, including:

  • Arrival and outdoor play
  • Nature walk
  • Morning circle
  • Creative play and artistic activity
  • Snack and clean-up
  • Storytime
  • Outdoor play and practical work
  • Lunch and rest preparation
  • Rest time
  • Afternoon transition
  • Outdoor play and pick-up

Each week offers a rich variety of hands-on activities, including arts and crafts, painting, cooking, baking, cleaning, games, and gardening.

These experiences support sensory integration and help develop essential skills such as pattern recognition, sequencing, tracking, and logical thinking.

Ample time is also provided for imaginative play, where children explore ideas, collaborate with peers, build confidence, solve problems—and simply enjoy the joy of being children.

Explore Preschool

At our Preschool, a thoughtfully balanced routine provides children with a sense of security that encourages free, confident, and joyful exploration. Our teachers collaborate closely with families to create a smooth transition into school, supporting each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Preschool begins at 3.5 years old. 

Explore Kindergarten

Our kindergarten program nurtures children as they reach an important developmental milestone—gently transitioning from a world of imagination to more concrete thinking. With intentional guidance, we help lay the groundwork for a successful entry into Grade School academics.

We offer a mixed-age kindergarten program for children ages 4 to 6.
